Our Mammas and babies are kept under night servalence for the first three nights with either myself or my daughter sleeping on the couch beside them. If all is well then we each take one shift in the night for the next week to check on them just to make sure they are warm all is well mamma might need a potty bread or a drink and this way she gets it.

They are watched and handled from birth.

We Keep the mamma and puppies confined for the first three weeks in a wire pen that is perfect for newborn babies to be safe and warm. Mamma of coarse gets to spend time out of the nest and can come and go as she pleases. for the first two weeks she mostly wants to potty get a drink eat get some love and go right back to her little family. After they start to get up on there legs to move around we move them to a swimming pool where Mamma can come and go and they can see her and us get to know everyone and start socializing.

Having puppies in a pool is allot of fun for us as we can snag them as we go by and take them with us to play with...lol They are starting to get curious at about 4 weeks old and nosing around and chewing on toys getting in and out of their beds, lots of tumbling with siblings starts at this age.

Puppies are never allowed on the bare floor or carper till they have their first shots. Humans can bring parvo germs and other life threatening germs in on there feet, so puppies have their own hand made quilts that they can play on.

Puppies get vaccinated at 5 weeks for the first time with a puppy vaccination we dont give lepto as a first time vaccination we do give it the second time around.
